The '50s: Construction and Renovation

The money raised for building and renovation in the '40s was put to work on campus in the '50s. Winton-Scott Hall of Science was built and the new Religion center was begun, containing The Brite Divinity School, Beasley Undergraduate Religion, and the Robert Carr Chapel.

The Brown-Lupton Student Center and Pete Wright Hall boys' dormitory were built, and Jarvis Hall was renovated. The stadium was enlarged. Colby Hall women's dormitory, Milton Daniel Hall men's dormitory, and Dan D. Rogers Hall were built.

Mary Couts Burnett Library was enlarged. The original Goode Hall was demolished and became the new Clark Hall. The old Clark Hall was renovated and will be Sadler Hall in the '60s. Brite College was renovated and became the Bailey Building, and Sherley Hall women's dormotory was built.
