Introduction
To enhance its archival research studying TCU’s history with slavery, racism and the Confederacy, the RRI embarked upon an Oral History Project in the fall of 2020 to record the memories of campus community members and affiliates of the university who could shed light on the years spanning TCU’s transition to integration (1941-1971) to recent and related histories (1998-2020).
Interviewees were selected based on their affiliation with the university and its history, prioritizing slave descendant communities, past and present students, past and present faculty and staff, subject experts, and TCU community members and stakeholders.
The interviews and transcripts are housed in a collection in the Mary Couts Burnett Library.
