A Pleasant Surprise.
Capt. Burk Burnett and Mrs. Mary Couts-Baradal Married.
It was rather a surprise that Capt. Burk Burnett, the great cattleman and farmer of the famous 6666 ranch was going to get married and but a few of his friends know any thing about it, and just a little more surprising that Mrs. Mary Baradal was going to be his wife, and so few of our people in Weatherford know it. But that is the case and we are all surprised and agreeably so. The morning train from Fort Worth on Tuesday brought Rev. Dr. Lowber, City Attorney T. J. Powell, of the Fort, and Capt. Burk Burnett to the city and at 4 o'clock at the beautiful home of Col. J. R. Couts, Atta Vista, Capt. S.B. Burnett and Mrs. Mary Couts-Baradal were made man and wife. They were driven to the depot immediately after the ceremony, receiving congratulations and many beautiful presents and took the train for St. Louis, New York and other cities in the east. Capt. Burnett is one of the most popular cattlemen in Texas and his friends are numerous. Mrs. Baradel is one of the handsomest ladies in Texas, a gem in society and will be a brillian ornament to the city in which she will live. The Enquirer joins the many friends of both parties to the suit and wishes them the cup full and overflowing of happiness.
